We’re going to Europe! Well actually, we’re already in Europe, but we’ve just finished planning our two-month Europe trip. We’re visiting (at least) 12 countries and 21 cities on our trip. FRANCE

Paris April 21 — April 24 (3 nights)

Just climbed 704 steps to the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower! Then took the elevator to the summit (worth the extra 6 euros). Amazing views of Paris up there, but the view from the bottom up is just as spectacular! #roadlesstraveledlife

BELGIUM

Brussels April 24 — April 26 (2 nights)

Hello Rapunzel castle. We stopped for a Belgian beer across the street from this thing. Just in time, too, because it started hailing just a few minutes later! (No worries, though. It’s blue skies again.) #roadlesstraveledlife

NETHERLANDS

GERMANY

Berlin April 29 — May 1 (2 nights)

Happy to be in Berlin with Helene! The warm weather here is a welcome change from the rain and sleet of Amsterdam. It’s been 2 years since we were last here but it still feels so familiar, like a little slice of home. Starting to get used using this Voigtländer 21mm/1.8. Still one of the weirder lenses I’ve ever used. Can you say “field curvature”? Sony a7S, CV 21mm/1.8

AUSTRIA

Salzburg May 8 — May 9 (1 night)

The hillllllllllllls are alive with the sound of music… (Sorry, couldn’t help myself. This place is awesome.) Salzburg is one of the most unexpectedly cool cities @inorman and I have visited on #NTSEuroTrip2016 so far. Funny story: When I was planning out all of our destinations for this trip, I actually had no idea this was the filming location for the super famous movie that I’d seen many times before, many years ago. We simply ended up in Salzburg because my 10-second Google image search made Salzburg look better than Vienna! Also didn’t know it was the birthplace of Mozart. I watched The Sound of Music last night (after visiting Salzburg), and it was super cool recognizing so much of the scenery! Oh, and the Salzburg Lake District where we are now is absolutely stunning. (Photos coming soon!)

ITALY

Rome June 14 – June 16 (2 nights)

📍St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City ••• Easily the largest and most spectacular church I’ve ever visited, this is the view down from the dome. €6 to take the stairs up to this point (€8 elevator ticket), and then it’s tiny stairwells only up to the cupola for the outdoor view of the Vatican and Rome. If you only have a few hours to spend in the Vatican, go here. It was better than the Sistine Chapel experience by far! #NTSEuroTrip2016
